Whether you’ve already got a basket full of food-themed plushies or have yet to start your collection, you and your little ones will love to create your own toaster pastry no-sew fabric crafts for kids. All it takes is a few simple craft supplies and a hunger for creativity!

  1. Measure and cut two 9-inch x 9-inch squares from a large piece of felt. Then cut an extra inch-wide strip off one side of each piece.

  2. Cut a 1-inch x 1-inch square off all eight corners. Then stack the two felt pieces on top of each other and cut slits that are 2 inches long along each edge. Slits should be about 1 inch apart.

  3. Tie the corresponding front and back flaps together, leaving the top untied.

  4. Add stuffing. Then tie the pieces on top together.

  5. With a new piece of felt, cut a squiggly rectangle about 4 inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide for icing. Glue it onto your pillow pastry.

  6. Give your toaster pastry a face and decorate it with bead sprinkles and yarn icing. Get creative with their faces, accessories and names!

Extend the Fun

After you’ve created and customized your no-sew toaster pastries, have your child make a list of their other favorite snacks.
